January: New Year’s holiday
The New Year’s holiday may be over, but many of you, may have taken advantage of the opportunity for a five-day break. If you take leave on Thursday, January 2, and Friday, January 3, you will enjoy a five-day weekend by combining those days with the regular weekend.
April: Eid Al Fitr
The UAE Cabinet has announced that the Islamic festival, Eid Al Fitr, will offer up to four days of vacation for its inhabitants. The first three days of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan, will be vacations. If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the 30th day will be a holiday, while the first three days of Eid will be holidays.
People are likely to observe Ramadan between March 31 and April 2, as it starts on March 1 and ends on March 30. If you want to take time off on Thursday, April 3, and Friday, April 4, you will have nine days.
June: Arafah Day/Eid Al Adha
This year, Arafah Day, considered the holiest day in Islam, will be observed as a holiday on Dhul Hijjah 9. Following that, residents will get a three-day holiday for Eid Al Adha (Dhul Hijjah 10-12), giving them a total of four days off. Depending on moon sightings, officials project that Arafah Day will happen on Friday, June 6, which the government has already declared a public holiday. The Eid Al Adha break will last from Saturday, June 7, to Monday, June 9.
June: Islamic New Year
Muharram 1 will be a day off for inhabitants, coming just a few weeks after the Eid al Adha holiday. This holiday is likely to fall on Friday, June 27, resulting in a three-day weekend.
September: Prophet Muhammad’s birthday
Residents will have a holiday in honor of the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday, which is believed to happen on Rabi Al Awwal 12. This is anticipated to occur on Friday, September 5th, 2025. If you prefer not to utilize any annual leave, you will still receive a three-day break. However, if your supervisor is pleased to see you happy, prepare ahead and ask for four days of annual leave, giving you a nine-day vacation till Sunday, September 7.
December: UAE National Day
Residents will get two days off midweek to commemorate National Day on Tuesday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Why stop there? You may make this a week-long vacation by requesting yearly leave on Monday, December 1, Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5. With the two weekends included, you’ll enjoy a 9-day holiday to conclude the year.
