Al Gaffal Long Distance Race is Dubai’s most anticipated sports event. It is a marine sport that has shone in the world. This sporting event launched on “May 23, 1991”. This sports event implements the vision of “HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum”. Al Gaffal Race celebrates its 32nd anniversary this year. This sports event revives the marine heritage of the people of the United Arab Emirates. Al Gaffal Race 2023!.

Al Gaffal Race Course:

Many skilled sailors and drivers take part in this competition. They have to cover a distance of 60 ft extending from Sir Bu Nair to Dubai Shores. They use a group of local boats to revive the marine history of the United Arab Emirates. Sailors cover the distance divided into two stages. The first part is from Sir Bu Nair to Moon Island the second stage is from the Crossing point(Moon Island) to the finish line. The finish line is near the new cultural landmark Dubai Eye.
