UAE National Day 2025- Private sector granted long weekend with paid holidays
Following the announcement of paid holidays, the private sector will have a long weekend. In order to give people longer, continuous breaks, a new law that went into effect at the beginning of 2025 permits some public holidays to be moved to the beginning or end of the week if they fall in the middle of the week.
When is UAE National Day 2025?
UAE National Day holidays 2025 were formally rescheduled from December 2 and 3 (Tuesday and Wednesday) to December 1 and 2 (Monday and Tuesday). However, the resolution is not applicable during the Eid holidays, and it can only be put into effect if the Cabinet makes a decision to that effect. All employees receive an equal number of breaks throughout the year owing to the nation’s unified holiday policy for both public and private sector workers. When combined with the previous Saturday and Sunday, residents can take advantage of a four-day long weekend.

Eid Al Etihad Celebration
Every year on December 2, Dubai celebrates Eid Al Etihad, which honors the United Arab Emirates’ founding in 1971. The phrase, which means “Festival of the Union” in Arabic, symbolizes the pride of the United Arab Emirates and the unity of its seven emirates.
Throughout the Eid Al Etihad weekend, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other emirates shine with special events that will transform the city’s most beloved destinations. In Dubai, locals can enjoy must-see comedy shows and theater productions, watch live concerts, including the Emirati superstar Balqees live at Festival Bay, witness thrilling sporting action, and don’t miss spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky.
Highlights of Eid Al Etihad celebration
- All of the Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah) have enormous fireworks displays.
- In recent years, drone shows have become essential for telling the story of the United Arab Emirates.
- Parades (think Downtown Dubai, Global Village, cultural dances, and music festivals) are examples of free public events.
- Discounts and deals are available because hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers enjoy participating in the festivities.
