Artist: Laurent Langlois
Laurent Langlois’ activities are mainly based on the art of using projected photographic images in his stage directing and space designing projects. Since 1986, he’s been collaborating for multiple cultural events, in museums, theatres and festivals.

Developed in the context of a constantly evolving universe, ‘Sunrise’ uses the sun to represent the passage of time. The show is an interpretation of how cultural visions may change through time, yet the sun remains the guiding star at the centre of the solar system.

A House In The Sea Under The Moonshine
As the moon rises, revealing geometrical universes in water, so too do Cindy Lo’s vivid brush strokes perform a slow dance on Masjid Al Noor. Abstract paintings, collages and mixed media interact with details of this architectural gem.

Light Carousel
Featuring 32 powerful search lights, ‘Light Carousel’ is a cutting-edge and high-impact light show surrounding the Khalid Lagoon. Simple yet effective, the Sky-Tracer scans a sharply defined and extremely intense beam in a circular motion at variable speeds, spinning around or splitting up with each light taking set directions.

Nicolas Gautier distinguishes himself with high technical skills and lighting expertise, along with a sensitivity to urban spaces and their transformation.

A-Maze-In
Witness this natural show where vegetable and animal kingdoms come together in a captivating world. A realm in which the artists imagine that the butterflies escape from Al Noor Island in search of a new playground: a maze in Palm Oasis. Experience this interactive installation through an illuminated maze with 14 different entrances.

The creative crew is composed of light artists, lighting designers and engineers who have been active in the field of light art since the 1990s.
Location: Located next to Al Noor Masjid, Palm Oasis is a relaxing and quaint garden surrounded by countless palm trees.

Waking Dream
Waterfalls of colours, charcoal rocks and dancing lights project on the building until it resembles a wadi (dry riverbed) landscape. Culture and knowledge draw their resources and origins from the natural environment. This show is inspired by the symmetrical patterns left on sand dunes by the wind and by the golden number present in the whole of the natural world.

Collectif Coin imagines a new performative device: ‘Abstract,’a 100-pixel matrix in which every pixel can move over its vertical axis between the ground and a 5m height. Movement, sound and light interweave in the show, transforming the urban landscape with dancing light pixels that create an illusion of travelling through time.

Location: Built in 1823, Al Hisn fort is a historical site that now serves as a museum on the emirate and its ruling family.

Arabic Fusion
The elegant facade of the Supreme Court for Family Affairs lights up in a show narrating stories of culture and memory in a contemplation of legacy. Paired with light odes to Islamic patterns and orient designs, ‘Arabic Fusion’ gives a particular touch to the structure’s architectural details, and to the images of the Islamic culture representing Sharjah’s heritage.

A Pakistani artist living in the United Arab Emirates, Syed Atiq ur Rehman defines his work in between culture and design, invention and knowledge.
Location: The Supreme Court for Family Affairs works towards local social and cultural development, and the protection of local families.

Chromatic Lights
Reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis phenomenon, oriental colours across the whole chromatic range are projected in slow, continuous movements against the beautiful Masjid Ammar Bin Yasser. A colourful current runs through the mosque, revealing its contours and creating an electric atmosphere.

Trained at ENSAD in Paris, Pierre-Julien Fieux is a talented illustrator and animation director with an awe-inspiring portfolio.

Using a wide array of graphic design fields, the Young Talent Design team works to turn day into night in Kalba for the ten days of the light festival. The urban space slips from its day-to-day functions to a land of wonders where crowds are inspired.

Glowing Culture
The show rediscovers Khorfakkan’s Heritage under a new layer of lights and sounds. The video mapping lights construct and deconstruct each surface of the building by applying dynamic patterns and shapes through successive strokes of light and colour. The image of a new kind of architecture freezes and carries the spectator away.
Artist: Alice Haldenwang
Alice Haldenwang is a graphic and interactive designer trained at ESAG Penninghen in Paris and the HEAD in Geneva. She likes to turn almost any surface into a dynamic video display, while exploring a wide range of digital technologies.
Location: The Khorfakkan Municipality works to regulate and facilitate public health and sanitation.

Stellar Falcons
Projected on Al Hamriyah’s town hall, ‘Stellar Falcons’ covers the building’s facade with colourful and vibrant shapes based on the figure of the falcon, along with oriental motifs and greenery. The story takes place over a succession of various landscapes, ornaments and birds digitally coloured with bright tints, sometimes metamorphosing into abstract forms.
Artist: Esther Megard
Painter and art director Esther Megard’s diverse work shows her to be a uniquely talented illustrator. She develops motion graphics and 3D animation by herself, using only the best textures and graphic materials to create high quality and resolution video content.
Location: Al Hamriyah Town Municipality Building is a government centre overlooking the lagoon.
