Pet Adoption Paw-rty in UAE: Biggest-Ever Pet Adoption Drive

The Organization Behind the Adoption Drive
Al Mayya K9 Kennels and Rescue Centre Organisation, UAE, in collaboration with their dedicated trainers, has prepared these wonderful pets for their new homes. They have joined forces with PETME to make this adoption drive a remarkable event. One notable aspect of this organisation is that it does not charge any adoption fees. This makes it easier for potential pet parents to open their hearts and homes to these furry friends.
The Urgent Need for Adoption
As the summer season approaches, Trina Mole, a volunteer with Sharjah-based Furrballs Animal Welfare Organisation, highlights the expected surge in pet abandonments and surrenders. Travel plans during the summers and relocations leave pets behind, leading to distressing situations. Many abandoned pets arrive at shelters in dire conditions, requiring immediate care and attention.
Educating on the Importance of Pet Adoption
Antelis Kovanidis, Manager and Chief Training Instructor at Al Mayya K9 Kennels and Rescue Centre Organisation, UAE, emphasizes educating people about adopting pets rather than buying them. Over the past four years, Al Mayya has rehomed more than 3,000 dogs in the UAE and the UK. Currently, the organization has approximately 150 dogs ready for adoption. These dogs are either rescued or surrendered to the centre by their owners. Each dog undergoes behavioural and health assessments and receives the necessary care and training for their future homes.
