Eid al-Adha is a Special day for friends and families throughout the Islamic World. Eid al-Adha often known as “Holiday of Sacrifice” is the Islam’s second main holiday after Eid al-Fitr. It honors the willingness of Hazrat Ibrahim(A.s) to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail(A.s) as an act of obedience to Allah’s command. Before Hazrat Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, Hazrat Ismail by the grace of Allah replaced with a lamb. Hazrat Ibrahim slaughtered the lamb. Eid al-Adha Dubai 2023:
Eid al-Adha is celebrated for three straight days in UAE, Dubai. It is a public holiday. It takes place on Dhu al-Hijjah 10 to 12, which is likely to take place from Wednesday June 28 to Friday June 30m but again is dependent on the sighting of the moon. Combining it with Arafat Day, people of Dubai could have a long six-day weekend. Sacrificial animals must meet halal standards, and pass inspection by religious authorities. In the UAE, Dubai for health reasons, it is illegal to sacrifice animals at home or in public. Instead, they must be taken to one of the nation’s four official slaughter houses. According to the Quran, Hazrat Ibrahim(A.s) was about to sacrifice his son when a voice from heaven stopped Hazrat Ibrahim(A.s) and allowed him to make something else as a ‘great sacrifice’.
For those who cannot afford to buy an animal on their own, family and friends collect their money and purchase animal. The meat from the sacrificed animal is traditionally divided into three parts. The times for the prayer on Eid al-Adha have not been disclosed as people are still waiting for the official dates from the moon sighting. Later, on Eid al-Adha day, Muslims can offer prayers at mosques, outdoor places of worship, across the United Arab Emirates. Eid al-Adha is celebrated in every part of the World.
