Six years ago on January 4, 2010 an iconic building was open to public named Burj Dubai but later it was renamed to Burj Khalifa. Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest man-made structure. It has the world’s highest outdoor observation deck, it also has a high-end nightclub, a hotel and restaurants. The observation deck is named At the Top and is located on the 124th floor. If you want to go more higher and touch the cloud 😉 then you can visit the observation desk on the 148th floor that was opened on 15 October 2014 but that comes with double the price 😉

First of all going to Burj Khalifa is no easy :p We parked our car in Dubai mall rather than searching our way directly to Burj Khalifa parking, as it’s very confusing. Once inside Dubai mall you can follow the signboards leading you to the Burj Khalifa lobby area that is in located in the lower ground floor. As we have already booked our tickets in advance online, that is highly recommended.. we didn’t had to stand in que to purchase the tickets thumbs up to us hihi. But soon we realized that there is another long que piling up for going up the deck as well. As there is a security check and from there they leave few people in groups at a time but that was OK it didn’t took much time for us to clear and go ahead.

After clearing the security check, a beautifully lit model of Burj Dubai is displayed in center of the lobby.. there’s a small walk to the lift that passes thru a hallway showing the astonishing transformation of Dubai and the iconic Burj Khalifa on screens attached to the wall. And now the final moment, waiting is everywhere even to get into lift there is a que.. as we wait patiently for our turn to come thinking about what we have heard, that the lift is quite fast how it’s going to be going up in the world’s fastest lift :p The moment came and we enter the lift that to crowded, we were just able to see the numbers going up as we go up the sky and you know you have reached some height when your ears get blocked haha and by the way its one of the beautiful lift i have ever seen 😉 It took us i guess a minute to reach the 124th floor observation deck as you get out the lift you see huge terrace protected by glass walls from floor to ceiling and has gaps between them which we saw people putting their hands out and taking selfies :-\

Now to what we really came here for the view, it was just superb, the deck gives you the 360 degree view of Dubai city, desert and the Sea. From one side, if you look down you see the beautiful downtown and the famous fountain area, the other side shows you the whole of sheikh zayed road covered both sides with towers and skyscrapers but from where you standing they look all small 🙂 You can also see Burj Al Arab and the man made island palm jumeirah too. You can spend as much as your time but for how long one can stay we were there for almost an hour and a half as we wanted to see the sunset 🙂 And yes when we reached down and before you exit the arena, there is a counter with screens pointing at you showing you your pictures taken up by the professional photographer At the Top, if you like any they will make it as a frame and give to you at a steep price of 250 DHS for one picture hihi Well we opted to take it as it will be a memory and as a souvenir for us 🙂

Overall it’s good one time experience we had and enjoyed it. Recommended time would be early at the time of sunrise or before sunset.
