Banyan Tree Hotel, Ras Al Khaimah – Review
Our trip to Banyan Tree Al Wadi beach resort is one of our memorable moment in our life. Banyan Tree Al Wadi is a luxury resort secluded away on an island in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the 7 emirates of UAE, with stunning views of the beach. There are two Banyan Tree Al Wadi, one is located deep inside desert the other one is situated on the beach. The one we went was, on the beach.
We booked our beach front pool villa online and we got a complimentary breakfast and Rainforest spa retreat. It took us easily 1 hour 10 minutes to reach the exact spot, you park your car and there is a small yacht ride for 5 minutes that takes you to the lovely resort, that was fantastic.
A beautifully structured staircase leads you to the main reception/lobby area, we reached there an hour early of check-in and without any waiting or hassle we were escorted to our private villa in a buggy.. zooom 🙂
The first impression about our private villa was the modern traditional Arabic architecture, the entrance door itself gave us that feeling that inside would be amazing! As you enter in from the main door of the villa, at the first glance itself you fall in love with the place. You are astonished by what you see, an infinite private pool, a sun lounger, private beach cabana and sandy beach with breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf.
The high-tented ceiling like villa room that is designed luxuriously and beautifully with traditional Arabic furnishings. The room included all the essentials: a dreamy king size four-poster bed, a large living room with a dining area and a flat-screen TV, modern bathroom, Banyan Tree Al Wadi own bathroom amenities, an abundance of teas/coffee and complimentary bottled water and slippers.
We quickly settled down, changed had coffee in our private sun lounger admiring the beautiful scenery in front of our eyes, after that spend most of our time was in the pool as it was summer and hot 🙂
We saw the beautiful sunset from the pool itself, we meaning myself as i love being in pool and she gets irritated because of this haha well once hunger strikes we had to eat so instead of going to a restaurant, we ordered food in our villa itself. We ordered pasta with pink sauce yummy and pizza and it tasted really good or we were just hungry so all we were eating was tasting so good.
After resting for sometime and updating our Facebook statuses and all, we decided to go out and check out the place so we called the reception to pick us up as our villa was quite far from the lobby area, in an instance buggy was waiting outside to pick us up, thumbs up for the service they provide.
Well upon reaching the lobby, we came to know apart from bar and a restaurant there is nothing much more to do but they said there is a restaurant outside that serves shisha and that’s exactly what we wanted in order to go to the restaurant we had to use the same yacht that picked up us in the morning as the restaurant was on the other side. So we went there had shisha and tried kebbeh as a snack after an hour or so, came back to our villa.
As the sky got more dark, stars became more shiny and visible, it was just bliss. We sat in our cabana talking and drinking and we had an unexpected guest a fox haha yes a fox we gave him\her some nuts and became friends lolz..
The next day, while checking out we realized we didn’t go for our spa, so we asked the lady about it and she said its not available in this resort we have to go to the other Banyan Tree Al Wadi that is located in the desert. So she booked our appointment from there itself and we head directly there that was again half hour drive. Upon reaching there the spa reception explained us about the spa treatment, that just went above my head haha 🙂
We changed and went inside together and it was not a typical spa, its basically a hydrotherapy spa that’s takes you through a journey of 16 unique experiences with a focus on body detoxification and relaxation. Namely as Rain Walk, Sole Therapy, Aroma Steam, Nature’s Glow & Touch, Bucket Drench Shower, Sensory Shower, Brine Cavern, Grotto Steam, Ice Igloo, Herbal Sauna, Sauna, Tropical Rain Shower, Sole Therapy Cross-Current Walk, Vitality Pool and Hammam.
The Rainforest experience was unlike anything we have tried before.
