Arabian Ranches Golf Club: A middle-range desert course with yardage of 6,531, par 72. Also boasts a floodlit driving range and putting green, and 11 guest rooms are available at the club.

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club: This award winning course is one of the most scenic 18 hole championship courses in Dubai and its location in the middle of the city makes it very accessible.

Emirates Golf Club: This club boasts two courses. The Majlis is one of the top 100 courses in the world, while the Faldo has floodlighting for night golf. Call for more info. Jumeirah Golf Estates: The new Fire and Earth courses (the latter being more challenging) are giving the Majlis at Emirates Golf Club a run for its money. Perfect for serious social players looking for a challenge, these Greg Norman-designed courses offer classic links-style play at championship level.

The Address Montgomerie Dubai: Designed by Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead, this course boasts 123 acres of playable turf in a 265-acre environment. The course also offers a floodlit driving range open until 9pm, a putting green and a nine-hole par 3 course open until 10pm. The Montgomerie is unique in that pay and play prices fluctuate depending on demand.

The Els Club: The first thing you will notice about this course is that it looks quite easy; but the second is it’s not as easy as it looks. Wide, inviting fairways lure you into trouble around every hole, in the form of deep, well-hidden bunkers. The course measures a whopping 7,538 yards, but is made up of five sets of tees, giving players of all skill levels a fair test. The two nines loop around the villas of Victory Heights at what was first venue completed in the multi-billion-dollar Dubai’s Sports City.

The Track: The Track is a new nine-hole pay-and-play golf course with no membership fees, located next to the Meydan Racecourse on the site of the old Nad Al Sheba course. Tee markers (shaped like horse shoes, naturally) in five colours transform the course from a challenging 3,700 yards in length to a more manageable 2,690 yards.
