Film screening: Citizen Jane – Battle for the City Dubai 2020, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, features activist Jane Jacobs’ fight against master builder Robert Moses’ plans to develop Lower Manhattan. It charts the global urban future, where nearly three-fourths of the world’s population will live in cities, and addresses the constant clashes between bureaucratic, ‘top down’ approaches to building urban spaces with grassroots, ‘bottom up’ ideology.
