The 124-year-old from India, Swami Sivananda, a 124-year-old landed today (7-Oct-2019) in Abu Dhabi. He was travelling to London from his native city of Kolkata with Etihad Airways having a stopover at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

He charmed the staff in the flight and at the airport too with his simple behaviour and charm.

Swami Sivananda runs Sivananda Ashram in Varanasi, a city in India’s Uttar Pradesh state. He has a following in India and this trip is to meet his followers in Europe.

He is probably the oldest person alive as of records on October 7th. The next oldest verified living person is Kane Tanaka of Japan, aged 116 years.

The airport staff and the people in the airport were so excited to see Swami because once in a blue moon will they find a passenger’s passport with date of birth reading 08/08/1896 and walking around unassisted at the airport.
