Investing heavily in the regional distribution of major studio productions as well as independent movies, Gulf Film further expanded its industry profile through the creation of the Grand Cinemas group today the largest chain of cinemas in the Middle East with a workforce of 600 people in the distribution and exhibition sectors. The leading movie distributor in the region is responsible for the lion’s share of Arabic and English titles across the Middle East, with movie sources ranging from American principals such as Universal Studios, Paramount and Dreamworks to independent filmmakers such as Spyglass, Mandate, Morgan Creek, Arclight, Summit, Hyde Park and Lionsgate, amongst others. Gulf Film Group distributes and exhibits over 200 titles per annum.

Founded in 2000 with the flagship Grand Cineplex theatre, Grand Cinemas has set the industry standard, introducing to the region such firsts as the E/Kiosk, E/Ticket, GC Mobile Application and RealD 3D technology.
Today, Grand Cinemas multiplexes number 13 throughout the region, for a total of 101 screens and 22,000 seats. Ongoing expansion will see six new projects unveiled within the next two years.
