Alka Team Restaurant Review – Saudi Traditional Food in UAE
This is the first time I am having a chance to try traditional Saudi food from UAE. Having said that I haven’t tried it either from Saudi!!! HA HA HA… So was very excited to taste the same. However, I have heard about the taste of Kabsa many times from my foodie husband.
They have opened the new branch in Muscat too. Location in Muscat: Ground Floor, Nesto Hypermarket, Al Mabella, Al Seef, Muscat – https://goo.gl/maps/6rtWAw9dYDE2
So when we heard about Alka Team Restaurant we planned a visit soon with a lot of appetites and let me tell you it was a fantastic experience of having tasty food, welcoming people and relaxing ambiance.
The place is easily accessible, thanks to our Google maps.🙂 Parking is available on both side of the restaurant as the restaurant is situated in a shopping mall – Last Chance Wholesale Market Ajman. The interiors were exquisite and artfully decorated, well-lighted, clean and spacious that easily can accommodate more than 100 diners at a time with comfy individual rooms for each family. There were majlis type seatings for those who prefer that or sofa seatings for those who prefer that. Our servers were ever smiling and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and explained the specialty of each menu item as we were not so familiar with the names listed.
To begin with, we were served with the fresh vegetable salad topped with a piece of fresh lime, fresh tomato chutney, and hot mutton soup. The hot mutton soup was much needed as it was really cold because we visited in the month of December. The soup tasted so good, a little special than we get in any other authentic Arabic restaurant, it was so good that we ordered another bowl of Alka Soup 😉
As we enjoyed and finished sipping our soup, the main course was served and we were astounded to see our Saudi traditional dish Mathgoot Red Chicken and Mathgoot White Mutton 🙂
The server explained that the Mathgoot is cooked in a big pressure cooker and the chicken and meat used in the restaurant is fresh / not frozen.
We tasted both chicken and mutton. If you ask me personally, I liked the white Mutton Mathgoot the most while the chicken mathgoot was also too good.
With that, we enjoyed our refreshing drinks, Sulaimani – The Arabic Black Tea, a great drinks to have in winter. We ordered one more Sulaimani because we felt that too very smoothing!
They want us to try camel delicacies also. But you know!!! we were too full. Will definitely pitch in again to try these next time.
Well, it was an experience to remember not only because of the food but also the service provided.
Alka Team Restaurant will always be one of the top restaurants for our Saudi food cravings. It’s definitely a steal and we highly recommend this place for a visit with friends and family!
