The Art of Brunch – Fountain Restaurant Dubai, UAE – Review
To begin with, first we would like to thank Dine Out Dubai for giving us this opportunity to try the one of a kind brunch called Art of Brunch in the Fountain restaurant located in Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bur Dubai and secondly special thanks to Movenpick for hosting and welcoming us warmly.
We arrived at Movenpick Hotel Bur Dubai a little past 12 PM and we were ushered to our table immediately as we had reservation and it’s highly recommended to have it in advance. The atmosphere was classy yet very relaxed and the natural sun light coming from high rise ceiling skylight roof was making everything warm, colorful and pleasing to eyes.
The Art of Brunch is an International buffet brunch set up on Fridays from 12 to 4 PM. The first thing you see as you walk in is this huge beautiful dessert station in the center of the hotel lobby and it just looked marvelous. The multi food stations looked impressive and it’s not just because of the extensive offerings, but because of the artistic arrangement that they cleverly call it The Art of Brunch! It’s a feast of both your eyes and your palate 😉
The available food stations were:
- Bread Station
- Arabic Mezze & Nachos
- Bread and Cheese Station
- Gourmet Sandwich
- Seafood & Oyster Station
- Salad Station
- Pan Asian Station (Korean and Japanese food)
- Indian Food Station
- Middle Eastern Station
- Dessert Station
We were unaware of the fact that kids have their own exclusive ballroom set up where kids can eat, drink and play under the supervision of the staff. The kids buffet had from mini pizza, nuggets, popcorns, pasta, mini burgers to sweets like cupcakes, brownies and candies. Kids club has a bouncy castle, art drawing, xbox games and big screen for them to enjoy movies.
Once we settled the kids in their area, came back and started the buffet and must say it’s one of the best buffet we have eaten in awhile. After trying Salad, Bread and Cheese station as starter, we dived right into the main course.. The Beef short ribs with teriyaki sauce was amazing, the indian station had rice, chicken tikka, grilled chicken and vegetarian dishes and roti and what so all but my favorite was the papdi chat that was one of the best papdi chat i have tried, it was yummylicious. Then we saw huge chunk of good looking steak and tried it ask for well done it was just meaty and juicy the best. The Arabic counter had Lamb Tagine and Meat Kibbeh that were also delicious.
We not being fan of oysters and raw sushi, so we kept our hands and mouth out of Japanese counter live station. If you wanted to try their seafood platter they would bring it your table. The Pan Asian counter, that served, Korean Style BBQ (beef and chicken), Stir Fry Thai Noodles were awesome and the noodles they will give you in take away like packing it was different or you can ask to be served directly at your table from the live cooking station.
Their ice cream parlour had 6 or 7 flavours with different toppings that you can choose from apart from that you can have fresh waffles made right in front of you with nutella or syrup and white sugar. For the crepe it was only available with alcohol that was a disappointment, please always read the nameplates placed beside each dish as i did on the right time after ordering the crepe i realised it was with alcohol, so was not able to had it.
And finally the main and the last course of the buffet was the Desserts section, it was just so beautifully set up and our eyes were on them all the time. No matter how full we are, there is somehow space for Desserts especially in my stomach than her. The selection was just tremendous from cakes, to tarts, to cupcakes, chocolate mousse, pastries, tiramisu in a mug, creme brulee and the list just goes on, not only they tasted good the presentation of the Desserts were beautiful. Each time, i passed by this section of heavenly goodness.. i was trying something hihi. The best part of it was all were being constantly brought in fresh and the staff was filling up the quickly emptying display and there is a pianist sitting playing the most soothing tunes live making your brunch experience a worthwhile.
