The Sharjah Maritime Museum first opened its doors in 2003 in the Heritage Area. It was re-located to a new building in Al Khan and re-opened on June 7, 2009.

This museum sheds lights on marine life which formed a major part of Sharjah’s heritage. The sea played a key role in the development of coastal cities and was the primary reason for their development over 6,000 years ago.

Here, you can explore traditional wooden seafaring dhows used for fishing, trading and pearling, each designed according to their use. Saturday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Friday: 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
