Cycle Track in Dubai – Al Qudra Road Cycle Path in Dubai, UAE
Cycling enthusiasts in Dubai may now start using the recently completed cycling tracks in various communities such as Jumeirah, Mankhool, Bur Dubai and Al Qudra.
Two brand new cycling paths have recently been finished at Al Qudra Road (total length about 86km if you were to start at the start of the track).
The awesome team at Cycle Safe Dubai/Revolution Cycles have organised/ pushed forward the construction of a new bike-only cycle track alongside the Al Qudra Road, and then on round in a loop out into the desert. Up the stick, round the lollipop and back down the stick will see you finishing 85km. The “stick” of the lollipop gets enough light at night from the road next to it to be fine for riding.
The first cycling track stretches 18 km and runs besides the northern part of Al Qudra Road. It starts off the first R/A following the bridge over the Dubai Bypass Road and extends up to the R/A on the intersection of Bab Al Shams Road and Al Qudrah Roads; where it joins with the second track to ensure continuity for the enthusiasts of long-distance cycling sport.
The second track is a beautiful, unique loop of about 50 km passing through dunes and by the famous Bab Al Shams Hotel where one can always grab a cup of coffee.
Cycle safe organises rides here on Friday mornings for beginners and advanced cyclists.
There is also the popular Bab Al Shams coffee run on Saturday mornings.
What is Cycle Safe Dubai (CSD)?
Cycle Safe Dubai was established to bring together enthusiastic cyclists of all ages and abilities who wanted the opportunity to take up or continue cycling.
CSD gives cyclists a chance to enjoy the sport with other like-minded people in a safe enjoyable environment and has created a supportive community for people in Dubai who love cycling.
With weekly rides and monthly meet-ups cyclists can socialize on and off the saddle, as well as contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of CSD.
Membership runs from January to December every year. New members joining from July onwards pay a reduced rate of AED250.
