YEAR OF THE 50th – UAE National Day
The 50th UAE National Day Celebrations will mark the country’s Golden Jubilee through a floating theatrical experience, highlighting the deep connections between people, nature and technology. Staged in Hatta Dam and surrounded by the Hajar Mountains, the celebration will showcase the UAE’s history, present and future through spectacular creative and artistic storytelling.

The UAE’s Golden Jubilee Celebation Committee invites the public for nationwide celebrations to mark 50 Days to the Official UAE 50th National Day Ceremony.
This year, celebrations of the National Day will start 50 days before the UAE 50th National Day. The initiative named 50 Days to 50, invites all those who call the UAE home to participate in the national celebrations by following a series of activations, rituals, and challenges on the UAE National Day social media platforms.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, declared 2021 as ‘The Year of the 50th’ to commemorate 50 years since the nation’s founding in 1971.
Running from 6 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, the celebration coincides with the UAE’s hosting of Expo 2020.
The celebration is an investment in people-building first – using this inflection point to celebrate our remarkable journey over the last 50 years and begin preparing our nation for the transformative change that lies ahead in the next 50.
