Abu Dhabi revellers are ready to end 2018 with a bang – with a world record-smashing firework display lighting up the skies on New Year’s Eve.
Hot on the heels of the UAE scoring 95 entries in the 2019 Guinness World Records, the country is aiming to rewrite history again with the largest ever sentence created in pyrotechnics.The capital will try to break the Guinness World Record for the largest sentence ever created in fireworks, according to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The 10-minute fireworks show on the Abu Dhabi Corniche will attempt to spell our “Happy New Year 2019”, using iron “sky towers” to create letters as tall as 40 metres in diverse colours and configurations.
Officials also released plans for other displays, inclduing Emirates Palace, Yas Marina and Al Maryah Island, as well as Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain and at the Al Dhafra Festival in Madinat Zayed.
