Jabal Al Jais Mountain
Jabal Al Jais is the tallest mountain in the United Arab Emirates at about 1,910 meters (6,345 feet) above sea level, with its highest point about 350 meters east of the border between Oman and United Arab Emirates.
The Jabal Al Jais mountain cluster is situated around 25 kms from Ras Al Khaimah city and has significantly lower temperatures even during the peak summer months. It takes roughly 1hr from the city of Ras Al khaimah to the summit. The mountain peak usually has a temperature gradient of 10-13 degree Celsius but temperatures as low as -3 degrees Celsius have been measured at the top of the mountain in winter.

For bikers and car enthusiasts, the mountains of Jabal Al Jais is a wonderful place to test their driving skills, the roads snaking around tight hairpin bends that affords great opportunities for adventure. Estimates suggest that the road is costing the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah more than Dh300 million.
An hour before sunset or sundown are great times to view the beauty of Jabal Al Jais, it is a perfect place for camping, a barbecue, climbing, biking, hiking, “take-away picnic”, exploring and star-gazing.

- Get on Dubai-Al Ain Rd/E66 from Financial Centre Rd/D71
- Continue on Dubai-Al Ain Rd/E66
- Take the exit towards Emirates Rd/E 611
- Take the slip road onto Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road
- At Emirates Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Sheikh Muhammad Bin Salem Rd/E11
- Turn right onto E 11/Khuzam Rd
- Take Wadi Bih – Ras Al Khaimah Rd
- Continue onto Mountain Road runoff
- Destination will be on the left
