NH17 is an Indian coastal cuisine restaurant located in the Sea view hotel in Mankhool, Bur Dubai with valet parking facility. NH17 as with the name most of our Indian followers must be knowing it’s a National Highway in India, commonly referred to as NH 17 that runs roughly north-south along the western coast of India, parallel to the Western Ghats. NH 17 is also known as Mumbai-Goa Highway in Maharashtra. Just a quick fact, it is the 7th longest highway in India.
NH17 is an Indian restaurant that brings in the fine coastal cuisines from 4 different states Mangalore, Kerala, Mumbai and Goa. The entrance to the restaurant is from 2 places, one outside and one from inside the hotel. From out you can see a symbolic stone that is kept on the entrance of the restaurant giving you the feeling of a highway 🙂
The ambience is simple yet elegant with dim lighting, there’s an aquarium too and we took the table right next to it. The servers are really friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and guided us till the end selecting and explaining what each item is as the menu is very vast, as first timers we were confused and took plenty of time to decide until our server realized and saved the day by helping us.
We were first given soup to start our journey, the chicken soup was thick and creamy with 3 different sauces you can add to enhance the flavour.
Our first starter was the Palak ki Galowti, which is spinach and potato mash cutlets (6 pcs) with a bit of cheese on top and served with a side of ketchup. They had this soft texture which makes it literally melt in your mouth.
For drinks we got their best seller nimbu nariyal paani. The nimbu nariyal paani was a combination of lemon and coconut water and neither of the two elements overpowered each other and tasted really good and refreshing!
Murg Kurchan Kebab and Murg Lababdar, is marinated Kebabs and grilled to perfection. With every main course you will have freshly cut Onions, Limes and a Pickle.
For the first time we tried Kerala’s famous Appam, no clue what to say about this as we never tried it before nor we will ever in future hihi
We indulged ourselves in eating all the dishes with naan and butter naan.
At the end they serve capsule tissues (magic) when poured hot water they grow like a tower haha something exciting to see.
Overall our experience was good but aint for us, quite probably our Indian followers would like it more.
