Kalba Sharjah UAE

Kalba (Arabic: كلباء‎‎ Kalbāʾ) is a town in the United Arab Emirates. It is an exclave of the emirate of Sharjah lying on the Gulf of Oman coast north of Oman and south of the emirate of Fujairah.

Khor Kalba (Kalba Creek), an important nature reserve and mangrove swamp, is located south of the town by the Omani border.

For campers, there are free places to construct your tent, cook fresh fish which can be bought from the fisherman caught from the tide.

For swimmers, the place is a spacious and safe beach. However be alert with the odd stingray, snake or jellyfish around.

For foodies, you must try the arabic evening snacks from the traditional shops near the mangrove.

Writers recommendation: Definitely try the Qaimat (Arabic dumpling called Luqaimat, click to view recipe video), local samosa,  Alisa (I like mutton even though chicken is available) and “Damgu” (boiled chick peas with fresh lemon and dried red chilli)
