University Description :
Ittihad University is an academic institution concerned with higher education and research in the various fields of social and scientific sciences. It was established in 1999 according to the Emiri Decree No. 9/99 issued by Late Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammad Al-Qasimi.
The University is approved as an institution of higher education by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE under No. Q/378/2001 on 9/7/2001.
The University has a distinguished philosophy in higher education, which is deeply rooted in the Islamic and Arabian culture and which keeps up with the most modern policies embraced by European and American Universities. The University also bases its educational policies and programs upon directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council Rulers of the Emirates.
The University applies the credit hour system which is made to suit the requirements and values of our Arabian and Islamic environment and it relates to foreign universities. This system also suits the needs of the job market in the UAE in particular and the Arabian region in general. The university makes training a major component of the educational program since it is keen to foster in its students the skills and competencies demanded by the job market and development policies.
The university has established links with a number of the prestigious Arabian, Japanese, European and American universities.
